WORKSHOP II: Queer is the Given

In traditional improv, queerness is often treated as the surprise, the reveal, or the joke.

In this workshop, queer identity is the starting point, not the punchline.

Through scene work, ensemble exercises, and character exploration, performers will build grounded, funny, emotionally authentic scenes where LGBTQ+ identity exists naturally within the world of the play. 

Participants will explore: relationship-driven scenes specificity and point of view queer joy and awkwardness emotional stakes avoiding stereotype-based choices heightening through truth rather than gimmick.

Open to all experience levels and welcoming to queer performers and allies interested in creating more expansive, authentic improv.
